| Other Info | REVEILLON 2008/2009 New Year's Eve (or REVEILLON as the local's call it) is the most traditional party in Rio's calendar. Revellers gather at the beach to pay homage to the African deity Iemanjá, the Queen of Seas. They dress in white and bring flowers and offerings asking Iemanjá to bless them with a prosperous New Year. As the night falls the party gets in full swing and we dance and sing until the skies explode in a dazzling firework display which heralds the arrival of the New Year. And then we party some more... + DJs Limão, D.vyzor and Mark Robertson + Percussion show by BASIL + LIVE: A lively explosion of Funk, Soul, Samba and Pop from ‘Mandinga’ and 'London School of Samba', one of the UK top samba schools!
