Earlier in the evening, BRAZIL: RHYTHMS & COLOURS: Over 1 hour split in 2 acts, the show tells the country’s history through music and dance. From the discovery of Brazil to its ballroom dances and finishing with a spectacular display of the Brazilian carnival mixed with Carmen Miranda and The Girls from Ipanema. Saturday, December 20th, 2008 | Author:

It’s my 4th NYE in London – third time playing at Guanabara.

Actually, I feel so lucky to do so – cause if I were just at London I would be going there to celebrate anyways.

There is a real, authentic feel of Brazil on that night, because we usually have a really strong… eermm.. ‘belief ‘ in NYE (aka Revéillon).

Everyone seems to believe (at least during New Year’s Eve) that  everything’s gonna be better next year – like me,  cause I know I’m gonna be better next year! That’s when I’m gonna finish everything I still haven’t finished, start everything I still haven’t started, quit smoking, drink less, stop eating junk food, protect my ears from the beeeeep, stop getting late, take better care of my records and bla bla bla blablabalb….

You see? That’s kinda how it works.

So, reviewing last year, in december 31st 2007 I could describe the mood at Guanabara as… at least revolutionary.

Hard party up to 5am with absolutely the same line-up from last year – D.vyzor, Spiritual South, Mandinga(live), London Samba School(live) and DJ Limao.

I play two sets – a short one from 11:15 (’08) to 00:05 (’09!) and then from 2:30 to close.

Hardly recomended. Go check Guanabara’s website right now, cause tickets go really fast.

  • Before Guanabara I’ll open the night at EGG, playing some electro and miami bass from 9 to 10:30. That’s a really good bash for those who aprecciate electronic music. Sambatralia’s room will be filled with good music up to 7a.m. The club breaks the morning up to 12a.m.
  • After Guanabara I’ll play morning tecno at F.R.I.E.N.D.S party, from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m, at Arch One bar, Waterloo station, where the party comes from ’08 up to the first noon of the year.

C’moooooon 2009,

C’moooonnnn
